It'll probably not get finished but here you have to what this exercise amounted to. It's based on a work by Sir Henry Raeburn, a fantastic Scottish portrait painter. i first did a sepia tonal study and then applied some more color to the face. I think the structure of the face is a bit hard to read. I should 've put more contrast into the colors. here's a detail of the original.
